Steve Gadd

DENIS J. GALLAGHER
Chairman & Chief Executive Officer

Denis J. Gallagher, founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Student Transportation Inc, has over 30 years experience in the passenger transportation industry. He directs the strategic operations of STA & STC and has led and developed investor activities through capital raises and debt financing for the company since its inception. Gallagher is a proven senior executive who has spent his entire career in transportation. In 1997, Gallagher formed Student Transportation Inc making him the third generation in his family to found and head a passenger transportation company. Prior to forming Student Transportation Inc, Gallagher was regional vice president and then senior vice president of operations for Laidlaw Passenger Services Group with responsibility for over 200 locations in the US. As a member of the Laidlaw senior executive team, he played a key role in the company’s expansion into new markets, along with the consolidation and integration of many acquisitions. Gallagher began his career at Coast Cities School Buses, Inc., founded in 1922 by his grandfather and father, which later, as president and CEO he grew to the largest privately held school bus company in New Jersey. A 1976 graduate of Monmouth University, Gallagher earned a B.S. in Business Administration. He is a past member of the University’s Board of Trustees and was the recipient of the University’s Distinguished Alumni Award. He is involved in numerous industry and community activities..

 
     
Tony Murgo

TONY MURGO
President

President of Ocean State Transit, Tony Murgo is a twenty-five year veteran in the school bus industry. His career began with Town & Country Bus Company, a growing school bus contractor in Rhode Island. Serving in a number of roles, Tony quickly learned all facets of the business. His success in directing branch operations and the talent he demonstrated in customer service earned him a promotion to District Manager in 1995. In that same year, Town & Country was acquired by the much larger Laidlaw Transit, Inc. Tony’s responsibilities grew and he subsequently directed operations and customer service for the entire state of Rhode Island as well as twenty-five locations in Southeastern Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Tony’s unique ability to excel in the day-to-day operation of pupil transportation is complemented by his mastery in managing all phases of large-scale charter events. Tony orchestrated charters for the Tall Ships from 1986 to 2007, the first ESPN extreme games, the World Scholar games, and U.S. Amateur and U.S. Women’s Open events, among others. Tony’s unparalleled experience and reputation as a highly responsive problem solver makes him an invaluable industry resource for school districts and charter customers alike.

 
     
Gregg Stinson

GREGG STINSON
Operating Vice President New England

Gregg Stinson is an accomplished twenty-five year veteran in pupil transportation. He began his career at Kauffman Bus Company in Buffalo, NY, working to advance the capacity of repair and preventative maintenance for their 300 vehicle school bus/Para-transit fleet.

After graduating with a B.A. in International Business from the University of Buffalo, Gregg was promoted to Maintenance Manager for the newly acquired Rhode Island District for Laidlaw Transit. He advanced through district and regional leadership positions to become the Senior Fleet Director for the Eastern U.S. and was responsible for 17,000 vehicles and 140 maintenance locations.

Gregg's cross-functional management and industry experience directing policy, procedures and safety design standards provide Ocean State Transit with a local and dedicated operations resource.

Gregg resides in Rhode Island with his wife and two daughters.

 
     
Kerry Baker

KERRY BAKER
Director of Finance & Accounting Rhode Island

A graduate of Bryant College in Smithfield, Rhode Island, Kerry Baker earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He is a veteran in the pupil transportation industry with nearly ten years of experience in the State of Rhode Island. As a senior member of management with Laidlaw Education Services, Baker was district controller where he partnered with the operations team in focusing on meeting the needs of many Rhode Island School Districts.

Baker's industry and local experience will provide Ocean State Transit with a dedicated resource in the development and execution of services in the State of Rhode Island.

Affiliations include the National School Transportation Association (N.S.T.A.) and Fundraiser Champion at Children's Miracle Network.
